I found the old cartoons disturbing
one example was voltron
half human half animals were common in most of the cartoons
castles were a common sight
So was violence
sex & subjugation were ways to perpetuate the monarchy
Love was freely given and gladly received
You'd never hear this from a transformer though
they were not inclined to hire intelligent actors in the old days
catchy tunes & slogans helped to mask the sheer stupidity of the plots
at the end of the day, the villain always got locked up or emasculated
